CRM - Thoma Bravo founder: This is the best time to be in enterprise software
Orlando Bravo, founder and managing partner of private equity firm Thoma Bravo, said Tuesday that the company has gone on a buying binge lately because "this is the best time to be in enterprise software." Speaking to CNBC, Bravo explained that the continuing rise of the SaaS business model combined with the fact that companies are now targeting very large markets creates booming opportunities for the space. "It seems like the whole world decided at once, all these industries, that they were going to accelerate their transition towards going digital," he said. In July, Thoma Bravo struck a deal to purchase Medallia (NYSE:MDLA) for $6.4B. This followed an agreement earlier that month to buy Stamps.com (NASDAQ:STMP) for $6.6B and a deal in April to acquire Proofpoint (NASDAQ:PFPT) for $12.3B. Bravo noted that his firm has the strategy of working with existing management teams to bring businesses with high revenue growth
