SLX - U.S. hot-rolled coil prices fall below $900 - Argus

Prices for U.S. hot-rolled coil fell to the lowest since December 2020 , tumbling through $900/st this week, Argus reported on Tuesday, as declining raw materials costs add to downward pressure on finished steel prices.

Argus said its weekly domestic HRC Midwest assessment fell by $44.50 to $895.50/st, while the southern assessment sank $95.50 also to $895.50/st.

The HRC Midwest price has fallen 40% since hitting a peak of $1,500/st in April.

Argus' weekly U.S. cold-rolled coil assessment plunged by $127.25 to $1,315/st, while the hot dipped galvanized coil assessment dropped $87.50 to $1,312.50/st.
