NBO - U.S. oil rig count adds to gains extending 17-month high

The total count of active drilling rigs in the U.S. gained 9 to 521, matching last week's gain, according to Baker Hughes' latest weekly survey. U.S. drilling rigs targeting crude oil also duplicated last week's gain, jumping by another 10 to 421, the highest total since April 2020, while gas rigs fell by 1 to 99 and one rig was classified as miscellaneous.
