NMR - U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission monitoring Archegos Capital situation
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is closely following the liquidation of Bill Hwang's Archegos Capital as more than $20B of securities were forced to be sold after margin calls.The SEC confirmed that it was monitoring the issue, according to Bloomberg.Some of the biggest global banks dropped this morning after Credit Suisse (CS) and Nomura Holdings (NMR) said they could have steep losses due the Archegos liquidation. Credit Suisse (CS) fell 12%, Goldman Sachs (GS) dropped 1.6%, Morgan Stanley (MS)fell 3.9%, Deutsche Bank (DB) dipped 3.7% and Nomura (NMR) plunged 14%.Earlier, Wells Fargo may have more ViacomCBS shares to sell, CNBC says.
