EA - UBS trend screen offers high-conviction picks to navigate 'cross currents'

A UBS update offers some more color on a screen it's produced, based on a report of major investment themes it's revisiting - generating some high conviction calls amid the "cross currents" buffeting stocks and the economy today. The scorecard it set up in its "Retreat, Rotate or Risk Up?" report this week included several variables: a production rebound, based on declines in inventory and inventory/sales ratios; pricing power/margin momentum; sensitivity to COVID-19 vaccine news; election risk, considering potential tax impacts and beta to election odds; yield (based on free cash flow, dividends and 2022 EPS); and growth (based on level in change in the next 12 months, as well as 3- to 5-year EPS growth). That led it to 23 names across industries ranging from tech to consumer to communications services to healthcare.
