EDR - UFC parent firm Endeavor Group's stock pops nearly 20% following IPO
UFC parent Endeavor Group (EDR) popped nearly 20% shortly after opening following an IPO that priced at the top of its expected range.EDR traded as high as $28.47 shortly after opening around 11:30 a.m. ET, up 18.6% from its $24-a-share IPO price.Endeavor is a high-profile entertainment firm run by Hollywood mogul Ari Emanuel.In addition to owning a major stake in the UFC mixed-martial arts league, it also runs the Miss Universe competition, the IMG talent agency and other top entertainment properties.CEO Emanuel is a Hollywood power broker who’s thought to be the inspiration for Jeremy Piven's character Ari Gold in the HBO series "Entourage." He’s also the brother of former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and is reportedly close friends with former President Donald Trump.However, Emanuel isn’t the only high-profile person involved with EDR.
