EUTLF - UK satellite operator OneWeb said near deal with Eutelsat
- UK satellite operator OneWeb is said near a deal to combine with Eutelsat Communications ( OTCPK:EUTLF ).
- Eutelsat and OneWeb may come to a transaction as early as this week, according a Bloomberg report from Saturday. OneWeb may be valued at about $3 billion in a deal.
- Eutelsat ( OTCPK:EUTLF ) has a market value of about 2.4 billion euros ($2.5 billion) is already a minority investor in OneWeb. The combined company is expected to be listed in the Euronext bourse in Paris, though the combined company may also look to be listed in London, according to the report.
- In October, Eutelsat ( OTCPK:EUTLF ) raised its stake in OneWeb.
- The possible transaction comes after a report in late September that billionaire Patrick Drahi, the owner of cable operators include Altice US ( ATUS ), reportedly bid about $3.2 billion to buy Eutelsat .
- The possible deal comes after Viasat ( VSAT ) agreed to purchase Inmarsat in a transaction valued at $7.3 billion in November.
