IBOGF - Universal Ibogaine announces changes to its Board of Directors and addition to Advisory Board

Calgary, AB – TheNewswire - May 9, 2023 – Universal Ibogaine Inc.( TSXV:IBO ) (“ UI ” or the “ Company ”), a life sciences company with amission to deliver medicalized ibogaine-centered addiction care,advises of the departure of two members of its Board of Directors (the“ Board ”). Dr. Alberto Sola Agullo has decided to resign fromthe Board in order to focus his time on his ibogaine based addictiontreatment business, Clear Sky Recovery Cancun SA de CV(“ Clear Sky ”) which operates in Cancun, Mexico. In conjunction,Robert Turner has also chosen to resign from the Board, whichcontinues with members Ian Campbell (Chairman), Anthony Decristofaro,and Nick Karos (CEO).
The Company thanks Dr. Sola and Mr. Turner for theirongoing insight and guidance to date as Board members. UI alsoacknowledges and thanks Dr. Sola for his development and completion ofthe ibogaine based addiction treatment protocol which was previouslyacquired by UI under an exclusive global licensing agreement withClear Sky, and which the Company will use as part of the foundationfor its planned clinical trial application to Health Canada for theuse of ibogaine in the treatment of opioid use disorder.
UI also advises of the expansion of its Advisory Boardto include Amanda Zinter. Candice Wilson andAmanda Zinter the founders of WilsonZinter Enterprises Ltd., who liveand work on the unceded territories of the Haisla Nation and SemiahmooFirst Nation, and both work closely with Haisla Nation, Candice as theEnvironment Manager and Amanda as a Regulatory Consultant.WilsonZinter was formed to promote indigenous involvement in projectdevelopment across Canada. Candice and Amanda have deep expertise ingovernment, regulatory, social governance, indigenous rights, andpromoting partnerships with businesses that want to demonstrate highlevels of social responsibility through their involvement in theincorporation and promotion of indigenous rights and the necessity ofunderstanding the knowledge the culture brings to environment and itsconnection back to oneself.
