VXRT - Vaxart continues to lobby shareholders to vote to increase number of shares

• In advance of an August 4 shareholder meeting, Vaxart ( NASDAQ: VXRT ) is again encouraging its shareholders to vote for a proposa l that would increase the number of its shares to 250M.
• The biotech, which is focused on developing pill vaccines, said that more than 80% of votes cast so far are in favor of the proposal. However, only 49.1% of all outstanding votes are in favor, below the 50% threshold needed to pass.
• The measure "would also allow us to maintain a strong balance sheet and remain in a strong competitive position, and it would enable us to continue to attract and retain key talent," said CEO Andrei Floroiu.
• Vaxart ( VXRT ) recently released data showing its COVID-19 oral vaccine induced antibodies in the body's mucosal tissues in the nbose and lungs .
