SZEVF - Veolia says will not extend offer deadline for Engie's Suez stake
Veolia Environnement (VEOEY) CEO Antoine Frerot tells France's National Assembly that he will not extend the deadline for Veolia's offer to acquire Engie's (ENGIY) stake in Suez (SZEVF), currently set for Sept. 30.Suez, which says the offer raises several concerns, rejects the Sept. 30 deadline set by Veolia, Chairman Philippe Varin said in a hearing at the Assembly, adding it needs more time to present alternative proposals with regards to Engie's stake.Veolia announced last month that it intends to buy a 29.9% stake in Suez from Engie for ~$3.4B; the proposal runs until Sept. 30, after which Veolia intends to buy all remaining outstanding shares in Suez at the same price of 15.50 euros/share.
