QQQN - VGT: At Risk Of Being Impacted By Supply Chain Ransomware

• There has been one more supply-chain based ransomware attack.
• Some sources point to more than 200 companies having been impacted, but Kaseya, the company whose software tool has been used by the attackers, does not form part of VGT.
• Still, the modus operandi and analogy with maritime warfare both show that such attacks are difficult to counter unless there is a more elaborate strategy by CISA.
• These attacks have had minor impact on VGT up to now, mostly as a result of some of its holdings being impacted, but this could change given its large exposure to software.
• It is preferable to wait for some more clarity, before effecting any investment decision, at this stage.
