VRTS - Virtus Investment AUM down 5% in December amid higher net outflows

• Virtus Investment Partners ( NASDAQ: VRTS ) on Wednesday reported preliminary assets under management of $149.38B as of December 31, down 5% from November, hurt by higher net outflows in open-end funds and retail separate accounts.
• The company provided services to $2.5B of other fee-earning assets, which are not included in AUM.
• Open-end funds AUM fell 6.6% sequentially to $53B, while closed-end funds AUM slid 4.2% to $10.36B.
• Retail separate accounts AUM dipped 4.2% sequentially to $35.35B and institutional accounts AUM stood at $50.66B, down 3.9%.
• Earlier, Virtus Investment ( VRTS ) AUM rose 5.2% in November .
