VRTS - Virtus Investment Partners AUM climbs 5% in June

Virtus Investment Partners ( NASDAQ: VRTS ) said Wednesday its assets under management came in at $168.3B at the end of June, up 4.6% from end-May and 8.7% from March 31.
The increase from March 31 mostly reflected the addition of $7.8B of assets from the acquisition of AlphaSimplex Group, as well as market appreciation, and institutional net inflows, partially offset by net outflows in open-end funds.
Of note, the company provided services to $2.6B of other fee-earning assets, which are not included in AUM.
AUM for open-end funds rose to $56.8B at June 30 from $55B at May 31. Closed-end funds AUM of $10.2B advanced from $10B a month ago.
Retail separate accounts AUM was $39B, up from $36.6B in the month-earlier period.
And institutional accounts AUM of $62.3B compared with $59.3B in May.
