Edmonton, Alberta – TheNewswire - September 21, 2022 – Visionstate Corp. (TSXV:VIS) (“Visionstate”or the “Company”) is pleased to announce its portfolio company,Exceed Solar Inc., has launched an innovative strategy to addressmounting concerns over food security in municipalities across Canada.

Exceed Solar Inc. (“Exceed Solar” or “Exceed”),which builds high-tech greenhouses, is creating a community-based foodnetwork within the City of Edmonton to help build “growingcapacity” in order to address rising food costs and supplyshortages. The first greenhouse and community garden were developed inpartnership with Freedom Cannabis Inc. (“Freedom”), anAlberta-based company that is also committed to positive socialimpact.

The initiative involves Exceed Solar supplying its240-square-foot high-tech greenhouses to businesses and communityleagues, in conjunction with a community garden, through sponsorshipsand donations. The harvest from the gardens is donated to communityfood banks to help ease the burden of food shortages and rising costs.

The community garden and greenhouse were installed atFreedom Cannabis Inc. in the summer of 2022, with staff and managementplaying an active role in maintaining the gardens. The company grew anassortment of vegetables, including celery, tomatoes, Swiss chard,carrots, and spinach, that will be harvested this fall and donated tothe campus food bank at the University of Alberta.

The greenhouses feature a solar-powered heat-pump systemthat not only extends the growing season, but more recently has beenimportant in cooling the greenhouses during the long stretches ofunseasonably hot weather. The main structures of the greenhouses arebuilt with recycled plastic bottles supplied by Ecoplast Solutions, anAlberta-based company.

Exceed Solar has two more community leagues in thequeue for the food network which will be launched in the comingmonths.
