WTI - W&T Offshore opens internal probe after whistleblower letter - Bloomberg

W&T Offshore ( NYSE: WTI ) has hired the Skadden law firm to conduct an internal investigation on management's close relationship with information technology vendor AAIT, after receiving a whistleblower letter on the matter, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

W&T's ( WTI ) newly hired chief information officer and general counsel have collected laptops and information for the probe, and Skadden lawyers have been interviewing former and current employees, according to the report.

In its Q2 filings , W&T ( WTI ) disclosed its operations could be affected by cybersecurity incidents and that its third-party IT service provider did not align with customary industry practices.

W&T Offshore ( WTI ) shares surged on Monday after easily beating Q2 earnings estimates and raising full-year production guidance .
