WAFD - Washington Federal CEO Beardall injured in plane crash
- Washington Federal ( NASDAQ: WAFD ) said Tuesday its president and CEO Brent Beardall was on board a private plane that crashed in Provo, Utah shortly after takeoff.
- Beardall, who was injured in the crash and is expected to make a full recovery, will take a temporary leave of absence from his duties as president and CEO.
- Cathy Cooper, EVP and chief consumer banker, will temporarily assume Beardall's duties.
- Earlier, Washington Federal ( WAFD ) said it will acquire Luther Burbank for ~$654M .
