DFAT - Weekly Initial Claims For Unemployment Benefits Rise Slightly But Remain Very Low

Initial claims for regular state unemployment insurance rose to 222,000 for the week ending November 27, an increase of 28,000 from the previous week’s revised multidecade low of 194,000.
Despite the rise, claims remain close to the pre-pandemic average level of 212,000 for January and February 2020.
The number of ongoing claims for state unemployment programs totaled 1.824 million for the week ending November 13, a gain of 45,754 from the prior week.
