• Wheaton Precious Metals is buying an 8% gold and 50% silver stream on the Blackwater mine.
• The price paid for the streams is $300 million and $141 million respectively.
• The price paid for the gold stream seems to be quite high given the current gold price.
• New Gold seems to be the winner in this deal, as it boosts its balance sheet while maintaining exposure to more de-risked Blackwater project via a 4.8% equity interest in Artemis.
