Australis Capital (AUSAF) is an investment company primarily targeting the U.S. cannabis market, including cannabis real estate assets.
Since marijuana remains a controlled Schedule 1 Drug at the Federal level in the U.S., the TMX Group Ltd., which runs the TSE, the largest exchange in Canada, decided if a Canadian company had exposure to U.S. cannabis assets it could get delisted.
In response to that decision, Aurora Cannabis sold off its U.S. assets and ended up spinning-off Australis Capital, an investment arm of the company.
