NIO - XPeng Li Auto and Romeo Power lead big day for electric vehicle sector while Tesla lags
Adam Smigielski/E+ via Getty Images The electric vehicle sector is in rally mode for a second consecutive day. More than 90% of the stocks in the EV sector are in positive territory for the day. Leading gainers include Li Auto ([[LI]] +8.7%), XPeng ([[XPEV]] +8.6%), Workhorse Group ([[WKHS]] +3.9%), TuSimple ([[TSP]] +4.5%), Romeo Power ([[RMO]] +5.5%), Arrival ([[ARVL]] +3.9%), Hyliion Holdings ([[HYLN]] +4.5%), Nio ([[NIO]] +4.8%), ChargePoint Holdings ([[CHPT]] +3.5%) and Kandi Technologies ([[KNDI]] +2.3%). Tesla (TSLA) is near the bottom of the EV mover list today with a drop of about 0.25%. Investors may be showing a little caution ahead of next week's earnings report. Wedbush Securities notes that China PR/safety issues and the global chip shortage are in the mix as headwinds, but keeps an Outperform rating firmly in place.
