SBGI - YouTube TV to cut NESN in further cull of sports networks
Another trickling data point in the declining availability of regional sports networks comes as YouTube TV ([[GOOG]], [[GOOGL]]) reportedly looks to drop NESN, the network covering the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. That follows YouTube TV's decision at the end of September to cut the former Fox regional sports nets, now owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI). And it leaves a fairly bare cupboard for sports networks on live-television streaming services. YouTube TV still carries NBC (CMCSA) regional sports networks (including its nets in the Bay Area, Boston, California, Chicago, Northwest, Philadelphia and Washington). But The Streamable notes that the only place outside pay cable to get NESN now is on AT&T (T) TV Now's $79.99/month tier - or on FuboTV (FUBO), $59.99/month.
