- The French Competition Authority could be the first government agency to bring a lawsuit against Apple ( AAPL ) over the changes that significantly changed the business models of many advertising-centric firms, including Meta Platforms ( META ), Snap ( PINS ) and Pinterest ( PINS ), among others.
- The agency is likely to issue a formal Statement of Objections" on the matter, Axios reported , citing sources.
- As part of iOS 14, Apple ( AAPL ) introduced App Tracking Transparency, a feature that allows users to dictate whether apps can track their activity across other apps and websites for advertising or data-sharing purposes.
- Cupertino, California-based Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
- Apple ( AAPL ) shares fell 0.6% in early Tuesday trading.
- Separately on Tuesday, investment firm Bernstein defended the company after it was reported earlier this week that Mac sales tumbled 40% year-over-year in the first-quarter .
