- Energous ( NASDAQ: WATT ) received a landmark Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval for its new 15W WattUp PowerBridge .
- CEO Cesar Johnston said the new approval "enables us to now transmit 15x more power than previously allowed without distance limitations."
- The WattUp PowerBridge transmitter can charge multiple devices simultaneously at-a-distance using RF-based wireless power. It can also act as a data link for connected IoT devices such as sensors, Electronic Shelf Labels, IoT tags and batteryless devices.
- Multiple transmitters can be meshed together to form a WattUp wireless power network covering unlimited distances for large footprint deployments such as retail stores, industrial warehouses, manufacturing plants and logistics hubs.
- Energous also simultaneous reported its Q2 numbers , with EPS in line with estimates but revenue missing expectations. Still, turnover rose 26% Y/Y to ~$233,000.
- The company posted a net loss of $7M and EPS of -$0.09. Energous and retail technology company Flagship launched the first retail deployment of Wiliot IoT Pixel smart tags energized by WattUp PowerBridges, at a major retail store in Sydney.
