- Though I'm not nearly as optimistic about 2021 as most prognosticators, we still have to go through the ritual of giving our Top Picks for the year.
- Looking back over 2020, it really was a year for huge winners and huge losers. There really was not a tide lifting all boats until November and December rolled around.
- The biggest winners really flew under the radar as SPACs and micro caps in the electric vehicle, battery, biotech, gaming/gambling were all the rage.
- Then came the technology stocks, both big and small, that were able to take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic and a new stay-at-home economy.
- The biggest losers, mostly in value sectors, were primarily in oil and energy exploration and transport. For 2020, my picks represented a mostly mixed performance selection that generally went along those same lines.
