Exicure ( NASDAQ: XCUR ) said that Paul Kang has been named its new chief executive officer and Jiyoung Hwang as its new chief financial officer, succeeding Jung-Sang Kim, who resigned on Friday.
Kang, who is also a director of the company, is the former CEO of Alpha Capital Group. He will also be succeeding Kim as president of Exicure. In addition to serving as CFO, Hwang, who is also a director, will assume the post of secretary of the company.
Exicure said Kim has also resigned from its board of directors, citing personal reasons. Prior to his resignation, Kim served as Exicure’s CEO, CFO, president and secretary.
The biotech company added that Changil Ahn has resigned from the board and audit committee for personal reasons. The board also appointed three new members: Hyuk Joon Ko, Dongho Lee and Hojoon Lee.
