- Fluor ( NYSE: FLR ) said the U.S. Department of Energy picked Southern Ohio Cleanup Co., a joint venture led by Amentum with Fluor and Cavendish Nuclear USA, to clean up a former uranium enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio.
- The contract has an estimated value of $5.87 billion over 10 years, and a task order for as many as five additional years. Fluor will book its first annual portion of the contract in Q3 2023.
- Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth has managed the decontamination and decommissioning work at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant since March 2011. The 3,700-acre site in southern Ohio was built in the 1950s by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to make materials for atomic bombs.
