General Electric ( NYSE: GE ) on Thursday said it will invest more than $450 million in its existing U.S. manufacturing facilities this year.
The investment includes more than $335 million from GE Aerospace, which makes jet engines for companies such as Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus ( OTCPK:EADSF ) ( OTCPK:EADSY ). The aerospace group has more than 800 jobs to fill throughout the country.
“The investments we’re making this year support cutting-edge technology that will help advance the next generation of aerospace manufacturing, ensuring a strong future for our employees, our business, the industry, and our commercial and military customers," Larry Culp, who leads GE and GE Aerospace, said in a statement.
