- The trade surplus in Germany increased to €10.8 billion in January 2023 from €5.4 billion a year earlier.
- Exports surged 12.2% year-on-year to €125.2 billion, while imports rose at a softer 7.7% to €114.4 billion.
- On a seasonally adjusted basis, the German trade surplus widened sharply to €16.7 billion from €10.0 billion in December, as exports grew 2.1% from a month earlier to €130.6 billion while imports fell 3.4% to a 12-month low of €113.9.4 billion.
