- Factory orders in Germany unexpectedly jumped 4.8% month-over-month in February of 2023, following a downwardly revised 0.5% rise in January and way above forecasts of a 0.3% gain.
- New orders rose for a third consecutive month and by the most since June of 202.
- New orders for capital goods jumped 7.3%, orders for intermediate goods 1.3% and for consumer goods 1.9%.
- Domestic rose by 5.6% and foreign orders 4.2%, of which those from the Euro Area increased 8.9%, while orders from the rest of the world increased 1.4%.
- Meanwhile, excluding large-scale orders, factory orders were up 1.2%.
