- Otter Tail ( NASDAQ: OTTR ) jumped 5.7% after hours Thursday on the news that it would be joining the S&P SmallCap 600 index.
- The utility is replacing UFP Industries ( NASDAQ: UFPI ), which is moving up to the MidCap 400. UFPI is down 3.5% postmarket following the news.
- And UFPI is making its move to replace LHC Group ( NASDAQ: LHCG ) in the MidCap 400. LHC Group is set to be acquired soon by UnitedHealth Group, a constituent of the S&P 500.
- The index moves are effective prior to the open of trading on Thursday, Feb. 23.
