With the first interest rate cut of 2025 taking place, it'll be interesting to see how income funds react. I believe that funds that utilize a portfolio of debt investments will experience some upside momentum into the renewed optimism around the debt markets. PIMCO Income Strategy Fund ( PFL ) utilizes a portfolio of diverse debt investments and may be able to improve its internal performance in a lower interest rate environment. When I previously covered PFL, I issued a hold rating.
