Sarytogan GraphiteLtd (ASX:SGA) managing director Sean Gregory sits down with JonathanJackson in the Proactive studio to discuss recent results fromgeotechnical drilling at the Sarytogan graphite deposit in centralKazakhstan. The company reported several significant intercepts ofgreater than 40% total graphitic carbon (TGC) and two individualassays higher than an “extraordinary” 50% TGC. The eight holesdrilled last year, totalled 471.3 metres, with high-grade graphitemineralisation reported in 92% of all metres drilled. Gregory alsodiscusses how these results will contribute to the upcomingpre-feasibility study and provides an update on ongoing batterytesting, following successful maiden battery results on Sarytoganuncoated spherical purified graphite (USPG) that delivered superiorperformance to many Chinese synthetic graphites used in lithium-ionbatteries. With the PFS and ongoing drilling to come, there should beno shortage of news flow for the company.
Gregory said: “These thick high-grade results, in many casesover the entire length of 60-metre drill holes drilled into theproposed initial pit walls, highlight the low strip-ratio andexceptionally high-grade mineralisation available at Sarytogan. Thisis another important input to the pre-feasibility study on track forcompletion no later than Q3 2024.”
