Sarytogan GraphiteLtd (ASX:SGA) MD Sean Gregory tells Proactive that maiden drilling isunderway at the Kenesar Graphite Exploration Project in northernKazakhstan.
Thelow-cost 4,000 metre drilling campaign is targeting EM anomaliesconsistent with graphitic-rich layers within the graphitic schistunder shallow cover. The company hopes to replicate the explorationsuccesses notched up at its namesake project also in Kazakhstan.
“The maiden drillingcampaign at the Kenesar Graphite Exploration Project is an excitingtime for the Company. This target has been carefully built from theground up by Sarytogan geologists with reference to the regionalgeology and the compelling EM anomalies recently surveyed,” Gregorysaid.
The program will test thehypothesis of graphitic schist under shallow cover. If a discovery ofthis type could be made, it would be highly complementary to thepremium micro-crystalline graphite at our flagship Sarytogan GraphiteProject where the metallurgical test-work and Pre- Feasibility Studyare progressing as a priority.”
