Vancouver, Canada– TheNewswire - July 6, 2023 – Trench Metals Corp . (the “ Company ”) (TSXV: TMC ) , ( FWB: 33H2 ) is pleased toannounce the interpretation results obtained from the Sentinel-2visible/near infrared [VNIR] and shortwave [SWIR] satellite studyconducted over the company’s Higginson Lake Uranium Project innorthern Saskatchewan. This comprehensive study, which incorporatedmultiple datasets including hydrogen, helium, and methane emissions, has successfully identified three distinct target zones displaying astrong correlation with historic radioactive deposits, samples fromthe 2022 program, and helium gas emissions. These findings providevaluable guidance for the Company's exploration efforts and contributeto the development of a deposition model.
The satellite study unveiled three significant targetzones, each associated with specific geological units and exhibitingcompelling indicators of uranium mineralization. The key findings areas follows:
Zone 1: This crescent-shaped zone extends over 5kilometers and is linked to a pelitic unit. Zone 1 encompasses allanomalous uranium samples discovered during the 2022 program andextends towards the Killoran Lake trenches to the west. The strongcorrelation between the observed radioactive deposits, historicaldata, and the satellite imagery further validates the potential ofZone 1.
Zone 2: This ovoid zone, with a diameter ofapproximately 2 kilometers, is associated with a granitic intrusivebody. Zone 2 encompasses the Corrigan Lake showing, along with severalnotable high-grade samples. The satellite study highlights the strongrelationship between Zone 2 and uranium mineralization, providingcompelling evidence for further exploration.
Zone 3: Spanning an ovoid area with a diameter ofroughly 1 kilometer, Zone 3 is also related to a granitic intrusivebody. Zone 3 encompasses the Higginson U-3c Lake showing, reinforcingthe presence of uranium mineralization within this specific geologicalunit.
The identification of these three distinct target zonesis a significant milestone for the Company. The correlation betweenthe satellite study's findings, historical data, radioactive samplesfrom the 2022 program, and helium gas emissions strengthens theCompany's confidence in the potential mineralization at the HigginsonLake Uranium Project.
These large-scale trends identified by the satellitestudy will serve as a guide for the 2023 exploration team, directingtheir efforts towards extending the mineralized trends within theproject area. The insights gained from this study will enhance theefficiency and effectiveness of the upcoming field program, enablingthe Company to maximize the project's potential.
Moreover, the study has provided crucial empiricalevidence that will be instrumental in developing a deposition modelfor the Higginson Lake Uranium Project. Understanding the geologicalcontrols and characteristics of the identified target zones is vitalfor the Company's future exploration and developmentstrategies.
“ We are pleased with the results of the satellitestudy, as they have validated our geological hypotheses and confirmthe potential of the Higginson Lake Uranium Project, ” stated Simon Cheung, President of the Company. “ The identification of these target zones, supported by the correlation with historic data, 2022 samplingresults, and helium gas emissions, provides us with a strongfoundation for our exploration activities. We look forward toleveraging these findings in the upcoming fieldprogram and advancing our understanding of the project'smineralization potential. ”
The Company remains dedicated to upholding responsibleexploration practices and prioritizing environmental stewardshipthroughout its operations. The Company adheres to rigorous regulatorystandards, ensuring that all activities are conducted with utmost carefor the environment and local communities.
