Active drilling rigs in the U.S. ticked lower for a second straight week, down 1 to 763, still 55% above levels at the same time a year ago, Baker Hughes reported in its latest weekly survey .
Drilling rigs targeting crude oil increased by 3 to 601, while gas rigs fell by 1 to 160, with 2 rigs now classified as miscellaneous.
Rigs targeting oil in the Permian Basin fell by 1 to 343.
