Overview
When I previously covered Nuveen Credit Strategies Income Fund ( JQC ), I issued a Sell rating due to the questionable distribution coverage and premium valuation. Since the time of my last coverage, the macroeconomic environment has shifted and the fund has released an updated annual report. With markets continuing to trade near all-time highs, investors may be looking for a defensive income fund that can offset the uncertainty that traditional equities expose investors to. Now that the first interest rate cut for 2025 has been implemented, the fund may see some relief in terms of its operating spread between the cost of leverage and yield collected from securities....
