Meridian: There Are Reasons To Be Optimistic Now (Rating Upgrade)

One financial firm that has been performing exceptionally well over the last few months has been Meridian Corporation ( MRBK ). With a market capitalization of $173.5 million, it is certainly a small player in the industry. In fact, it's one of the smallest that I write about. However, it was smaller back in June when I reaffirmed the company as a ‘hold’ candidate. Even though the stock was cheap, and even though management was continuing to grow the company's balance sheet, asset quality concerns remained. That justified, in my mind, a more neutral assessment than a bullish one....
