NEUBERGER HIGH YIELD STRATEGIES FUND ANNOUNCES MONTHLY DISTRIBUTION

MWN-AI** Summary

Neuberger High Yield Strategies Fund Inc. (NYSE American: NHS) has declared a monthly distribution of $0.0905 per share of common stock, which will be payable on January 30, 2026. To qualify for this distribution, shareholders must have their shares recorded by January 15, 2026, which coincides with the ex-date for the payment. This announcement is part of the Fund's level distribution policy, whereby it aims to provide consistent monthly distributions, contingent upon prevailing market conditions.

The Fund's ability to sustain this distribution rate relies on various factors, including the stability of income generated from its investments, the associated costs of leveraging their portfolio, and overall fund expenses. Importantly, the distribution may not solely consist of net investment income; it can also include realized capital gains and potentially a return of capital. These distributions are in compliance with Section 19 of the Investment Company Act of 1940, and any changes that deviate from net investment income will be communicated to investors.

For clarity regarding the composition of each distribution, the Fund will issue a notice detailing the sources and tax characteristics after the end of the year. Neuberger Berman, the parent company of the Fund, is an independent investment manager with a storied history, founded in 1939, and currently oversees approximately $558 billion in diverse asset classes for clients worldwide. The firm prides itself on its active management approach driven by thorough fundamental research and strong engagement with its investments, earning recognition as a top employer in the finance sector.

MWN-AI** Analysis

The recent announcement by Neuberger High Yield Strategies Fund Inc. (NHS) regarding its monthly distribution of $0.0905 per share is a noteworthy development for current and prospective investors. This consistent distribution reflects the fund's commitment to providing stable income amidst fluctuating market conditions. As a financial analyst, I advise investors to consider several factors before making investment decisions in light of this announcement.

Firstly, the ability of the fund to maintain this distribution hinges on income stability from its investments, the cost of leverage, and management fees. Investors need to evaluate not only the past performance of NHS but also the broader economic landscape, including interest rate trends, which can impact high-yield investments.

Additionally, it’s crucial to note that distributions may consist of net investment income, net realized capital gains, and potentially return of capital. Such a structure invites scrutiny regarding the sustainability of these distributions, as a return of capital could signal underlying performance issues. Therefore, investors should be vigilant about the sources of this income and monitor any future notifications that detail the distribution's characteristics as mandated by Section 19 of the Investment Company Act.

Looking forward, investors should assess their risk tolerance against the backdrop of potential economic downturns or volatility in the high-yield bond market. Given that NHS operates within a competitive field of closed-end funds, it will be essential for the fund's managers to demonstrate effective strategies for capital allocation and risk management.

In summary, while the monthly distribution represents a reliable income stream, investors should conduct thorough due diligence on the fund's performance metrics, market conditions, and management strategy to make informed investment choices in NHS.

NEW YORK, Dec. 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Neuberger High Yield Strategies Fund Inc. (NYSE American: NHS) (the "Fund") has announced a distribution declaration of $0.0905 per share of common stock. The distribution announced today is payable on January 30, 2026, has a record date of January 15, 2026, and has an ex-date of January 15, 2026.

Under its level distribution policy, the Fund anticipates that it will make regular monthly distributions, subject to market conditions, of $0.0905 per share of common stock, unless further action is taken to determine another amount. The Fund's ability to maintain its current distribution rate will depend on a number of factors, including the amount and stability of income received from its investments, the cost of leverage and the level of other Fund fees and expenses. There is no assurance that the Fund will always be able to pay a distribution of any particular amount or that a distribution will consist only of net investment income.

Due to an effort to maintain a stable distribution amount, the distribution announced today, as well as future distributions, may consist of net investment income, net realized capital gains and return of capital. In compliance with Section 19 of the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended, a notice would be provided for any distribution that does not consist solely of net investment income. The notice would be for informational purposes and not for tax reporting purposes, and would disclose, among other things, estimated portions of the distribution, if any, consisting of net investment income, capital gains and return of capital. The final determination of the source and tax characteristics of all distributions paid in 2026 will be made after the end of the year.
