Nordic Semiconductor: Not Investing Here, Despite Valuation (Rating Downgrade)
2025-04-07 17:59:54 ET
Summary
- I previously rated Nordic Semiconductor ASA as a speculative "Buy," but due to market volatility and tariff concerns (and ADR pricing trends), I have downgraded it to a "Hold."
- Despite recent gains and strong Q4 2024 results, I sold my position in favor of more defensive investments due to anticipated market instability.
- The company's guidance for Q1 2025 seems overly optimistic, and the stock's extreme volatility makes it a risky investment in the current economic climate.
- My new price target is 120 NOK, reflecting tariff uncertainties and forecast instability, translating to a "Hold" rating for the ADR at $11/share.
Dear readers/followers,
In my last article, I made it clear that I view Nordic Semiconductor ASA ( NDCVF , NRSDY ) as a speculative sort of "Buy," and even hold a small position in the company, which since that article has gone up boy abut 33%, in movement against the S&P 500 (SP500) which is down 14.30%. All in all, that is an outperformance of close to 50%.
