There are probably two things that immediately come to our mind when hearing Blue Owl Capital Inc. ( OWL ) in the context of private credit investments:

1. The recent turbulence around OBDC II capital outflows and not-so-fortunate steps by the management to handle that situation (e.g., failed merger with OBDC II sister BDC, sudden cap on how much capital can get pulled back from OBDC II, which, from the start, promised permanent and full liquidity access).
2. Blue Owl Capital Corporation ( OBDC ), which is one of the largest and well-known publicly traded BDCs, has experienced a significant selloff due to sector-specific and, importantly, OWL-related aspects.
