The First Trust Intermediate Duration Preferred & Income Fund ( FPF ) is a closed-end fund, or CEF, that income-seeking investors might find attractive as a way of earning a very high level of current income. The fund certainly does pretty well in this respect, as it boasts a 9.10% yield that is far superior to the yield of most fixed-income indices. This can be clearly seen in this chart:
