The First Trust Senior Floating Rate Income Fund II ( FCT ) is a closed-end fund, or CEF, that income-seeking investors might wish to use as a method of earning a very high level of current income from the assets that they already possess. The fund actually manages to do a fairly good job at this, as it boasts an 11.68% distribution yield. This is far higher than the yield of any major domestic fixed-income debt index, the yields of which are shown in this chart:
