Investment Thesis
I last reviewed the WisdomTree U.S. SmallCap Dividend Fund ETF ( DES ) on July 12, 2023, when I cautioned that weak capital appreciation was possible while also highlighting its attractive 3.16% expected dividend yield, which was solid for the small-cap space. As shown below, DES initially performed relatively well against VBR and SLYV but peaked in November 2024 and was essentially flat in 2025, gaining just 0.24%, including dividends....
