Turbo Energy S.A. (NASDAQ: TURB ), a provider of AI-optimized solar energy storage solutions, has signed a landmark agreement to supply renewable-powered charging for Uber's electric vehicle fleet in Spain.
The project is anchored by Turbo's patent-pending SUNBOX Industry system, a scalable storage platform designed to overcome grid limitations that often hinder EV adoption. For Uber, Turbo installed SUNBOX Industry systems to support 10 high-capacity charging points, creating a 1 MW / 2 MWh smart storage hub. While the site's grid connection could only deliver 600 kW--roughly a third of the required power--the addition of 1,000 kW of storage capacity expanded total available power to 1.6 MW, enabling seamless charging for more than 300 vehicles.
Equipped with AI-driven controls, SUNBOX Industry dynamically balances grid supply and battery capacity, preventing overloads and ensuring uninterrupted charging. This flexibility makes it a strong solution for fleet operators in regions with constrained grid infrastructure.
CEO Mariano Soria called the partnership a milestone, stating: "This project demonstrates how renewable generation, advanced storage, and intelligent control can be combined to deliver true energy autonomy. With Uber, we are showcasing a scalable, replicable model for fleet electrification that can accelerate decarbonization across Europe."
The deployment was completed in collaboration with INSOLEN, a Spanish engineering firm specializing in solar and charging infrastructure. Together, the companies delivered a turnkey solution that integrates storage, charging, and smart controls into a single, efficient system.
Investor perspective: This agreement with Uber strengthens Turbo Energy's position in the fast-growing fleet electrification market, validating its SUNBOX Industry platform as a practical, scalable solution. By solving grid-capacity challenges with AI-optimized storage, Turbo is positioning itself as a critical enabler of large-scale EV adoption in Europe and beyond.
