PFL: Distribution Is Fully Covered, But Hard To Justify The Premium

The PIMCO Income Strategy Fund ( PFL ) is a closed-end fund that invests in a portfolio of fixed-rate and floating-rate bonds in an effort to provide its investors with a very high level of income. The fund manages to do reasonably well at this, as it boasts a whopping 11.71% yield at the current share price. As we can see here, this is higher than the yield of most fixed-income indices and index funds:
