I continue my research of the forest industry with Louisiana-Pacific ( LPX ), the largest manufacturer of engineered wood siding in North America. Lap siding, also known as clapboard, is an exterior building material consisting of overlapping horizontal boards, as illustrated below. At the cheaper end of the market, clapboards are often made from vinyl. In that sense, LPX's wood-based products command a price premium in the marketplace. By offering a more differentiated product, Louisiana-Pacific has some pricing power over its client base, as evidenced in the Q3-25 earnings that I will touch upon later....
