Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA), the automaker already impacted by the United Auto Workers, or UAW, strike at one of its U.S. plants, now faces another labor stoppage at a factory in Italy on Monday.
What Happened: Unions have reportedly announced a one-day strike at Stellantis NV’s Melfi plant due to concerns over the production of new models, UILM, FIM-CISL, Fismic and Uglm said on Friday, reported Reuters.
The strike is scheduled for Sept.18, as the labor unions demand more information about the automaker’s future production plans at the plant.
The Franco-Italian automaker had previously announced plans to produce five new models at the Melfi plant, which employs over 5,000 workers. However, the company did not provide updates on the fifth model, leading to the call for the strike.
