Prominent activist investor Jeff Ubben is shutting down his social investing-focused firm, Inclusive Capital Partners.
Inclusive Capital has started to wind down its operations and is returning capital to limited partners, acording to a WSJ report on Wednesday, citing a meno sent to investors.
Ubben is known for founding well known activist firm ValueAct, which he left in 2020 to start Inclusive Capital. Ubben gave up the chief investment officer job at ValueAct in 2017 and the CEO role to his chosen successor, Mason Morfit, in 2020.
Ubben's Inclusive Capital earlier this year targeted Bayer ( OTCPK:BAYZF ) and the German conglomerate added Ubben to an independent, outside council of experts that advises the German chemicals and drug maker on sustainability.
