ACC - American Campus stock climbs 2.5% after Piper upgrade on strong pre-leasing

American Campus Communities (ACC) stock gains 2.5% after Piper Sandler analyst Alexander Goldfarb upgrades the student housing REIT to Overweight from Neutral on stronger pre-leasing, especially in the South.Goldfarb also points out the "growing dominance" of Division I schools, which also favors ACC.Reopening of Disney program will also add to 2022 earnings, he said.ACC, up 8.2% YTD, lags the SNL Apartment Index, which has climbed 25%, Goldfarb points out.The Overweight rating clashes with the Bearish Quant rating and aligns with the average Wall Street rating of Bullish (5 Very Bullish, 4 Neutral).
