Marlin is facing deep and possibly sustained headwinds from COVID-19. Their target customers are small businesses, which have been hardest hit by the lockdowns.
Nevertheless, they are trading well below tangible book value per share. They are worth at least their net assets. A projection of earnings reveals similar undervaluation.
For now, I am investing in Marlin until they get back up to book value. One last puff. My mind might change.
